Meghan Peyton, Danny Docherty, Tyler and Katy Jermann to Run ‘Road to Gold’ Race in Atlanta on March

Minneapolis/St. Paul – Feb. 26, 2019 – Four Team USA Minnesota distance runners – Meghan Peyton, Danny Docherty, Tyler Jermann and Katy Jermann – will be among the Olympic hopefuls competing at the Road to Gold 8.2 Mile race in Atlanta on March 2.  The event, which starts at 7:00 a.m. (Eastern), is a new road race produced by the Atlanta Track Club and takes runners along the final 8 miles of the planned 2020 Olympic Team Trials – Marathon course.


The U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials will be held on the streets of Atlanta on Feb. 29, 2020.  The Road to Gold race provides a preview of the Trials course and starts at Centennial Olympic Park.  In addition to an Olympic Hopeful Division on March 2, the event will also be open to citizen runners and walkers.


All four Team USA Minnesota runners have their qualifiers for the 2020 Marathon Trials.  Peyton posted her best time of 2:36:26 at the California International Marathon in December.  At the Houston Marathon in January, Docherty qualified in his debut marathon with a time of 2:18:27, with Tyler Jermann running a personal best of 2:13:29 in the distance, and Katy Jermann crossing the finish line in a debut time of 2:33:41.



USATF Indoor Championships

Heather Kampf competed in the women’s 2 mile race at the USATF Indoor Championships on Feb. 24 in New York City.  She finished 12th in her heat and 19th overall in the combined two heats of the 2 mile with a personal best time of 10:00.32 (previous best was 10:21.80).
