Annmarie grew up in New Hartford Connecticut before attending college at Bryant University. As a freshman at Bryant she was named the Northeast Conference Rookie of the Year for her ninth place finish at the NEC Cross Country Championships. On the track, she showed her impressive range racing in everything from the 800m to the 10K, including the steeplechase. Posting many times in her tenure at Bryant that put her near the top of the Bulldog record books, Annmarie graduated with PRs of 17:14 (5K) and 36:18.82 (10K).
After college, Tuxbury quickly took to the roads, running her first half marathon in October of 2016 in a time of 1:18:34. Competing as an athlete with the Woodbridge Running Company Race team, she qualified for the 2020 U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials. In between qualifying for, and racing in, the trials, she dropped her half marathon time to 1:13:18, was named the Connecticut Distance Runner of the year twice, and continued to test herself across a variety of distances.
Since the 2020 Olympic Trials, Annmarie has achieved impressive personal bests from the 10K (33:37.27) up to the Marathon (2:30:04) thanks to her involvement with several teams and clubs. She’s competed in the B.A.A. Boston Marathon, the California International Marathon (where she ran her current personal best in 2024), and qualified for, and raced in the 2024 Olympic Marathon Trials in Orlando, Florida. She now joins Minnesota Distance Elite with a wealth of knowledge and experience on the roads and continued excitement around testing her limits.
