Rachel grew up on a farm in New Philadelphia, Ohio. As a New Philadelphia Quaker, she was a three-time qualifier for the state cross country meet. Her senior year she qualified for the state track and field championships in the 1600. On the track, she ran personal bests of 5:01 for the 1600 and 11:14 for the 3200.

After high school, Rachel attended Southern Illinois University, where she specialized in the 3000m Steeplechase. In her final season of outdoor track, she ran 10:00.70 for the event, and qualified for the NCAA DI National Championships. She was also an All-Region runner in cross country, and a conference champion in the 3000m Steeplechase. Rachel finished her eligibility in June, 2024, graduating with a degree in Animal Science.

Rachel joined Minnesota Distance Elite in August 2024 and has already reached new heights. In her first race with the team, she won the 2024 Victory 10K and she saw great success in her first post-collegiate cross country season placing 13th at both the Sound Running Cross Champs and the USATF XC Championships. In the 2025 spring track season, she achieved two personal records in the 3000m steeplechase and qualified to race that event at the USATF Outdoor Track and Field Championships. She is dedicated to the steeplechase, but will continue to explore other distances.
