Our Athletes
The Minnesota Distance Elite training group - formerly Team USA Minnesota - has developed an Olympian in the 1500m, a NACAC women’s cross country champion, and 24 U.S. Champions including in the 1500, 3000 and 10,000m on the track; mile, 10k, 15k, 10 mile, half marathon, 20k, 25k and marathon on the road; and 4k, 6k, 8k and 10k cross country.
The team has placed 30 athletes on U.S. teams competing in World Championship events including cross country, indoor track, outdoor track and roads; and achieved 81 top three finishes in U.S. Championships since 2001.
Athletes use the facilities at a number of area tracks and perform strength & conditioning training at the Training HAUS through a sponsorship arrangement with Twin Cities Orthopedics. They have access to top-of-the-line exercise testing and sport science through Human Powered Health. The Twin Cities has an abundance of running trails in the metropolitan area, including a chain of lakes, river routes and numerous parks. Minneapolis/St. Paul is consistently ranked by Runner’s World and other fitness publications as one of the top 10 running locations in the country.
