Katy and Tyler, Danny, Dakotah to Compete at Get in Gear 10k on 4/27; Heather 2nd at USA Road Champs

Minneapolis/St. Paul – April 24, 2019 – Team USA Minnesota’s Katy and Tyler Jermann, Danny Docherty, and Dakotah Lindwurm will be among the competitors at the 42nd annual Get in Gear 10k in Minneapolis on April 27.


The race, which starts and finishes in Minnehaha Park, is the site of the USATF Minnesota 10k Championships and part of the team circuit.  In addition, it is the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) National 10k Championship, one of seven races in the country selected for RRCA’s Championships Event Series.


All four Team USA Minnesota runners have previously competed at the Get in Gear 10k.  Katy Jermann finished third and Lindwurm was fourth in the women’s field at last year’s race.  Tyler Jermann was sixth in 2018 and Docherty placed third in 2017.


Katy Jermann has a best in the 10k of 33:09, Lindwurm has posted 34:47, Tyler Jermann has run 30:53, and Docherty has a best of 29:16.  In 2019, the four athletes have been posting personal bests in a variety of distances including at the Houston Marathon in January with Katy Jermann running 2:33:41 in her debut, Tyler Jermann marking a best of 2:13:29, and Docherty at 2:18:27 in his debut.  The Jermann’s have also run bests in the 15k and 10 mile this spring, along with Docherty in the 10 Mile.


Lindwurm has been improving her times this spring with a win at the O’Gara’s 8k in St. Paul in 27:45, followed by a first place finish at the Hot Dash 10 Mile in Minneapolis in 56:08.


USA 1 Mile Road Championships

Heather Kampf finished second in the USATF 1 Mile Road Championships with a time of 4:31.4.  The race was held in downtown Des Moines on April 23.  Next up for Kampf is the women’s invitational 1500 meters which will be held on April 27 at the Drake Relays.
