Minneapolis/St. Paul – Nov. 7, 2019 – Team USA Minnesota’s Kevin Lewis and Joel Reichow will be among the competitors at the Indianapolis Monumental Half Marathon on Nov. 9.  The race - on a flat and fast course along with a companion marathon - starts at 8:00 a.m. (Eastern) in downtown Indianapolis.

As an incentive, the Indy Half is offering a $1,000 bonus to runners who achieve a U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials qualifying time, which is 1:04 or better for men.

Lewis has already posted 1:03:55 in the half marathon and will be looking to improve upon that time.  Reichow will be making his debut at the half marathon distance.  He has a best in the 10 mile of 48:41 and in the 10,000m of 28:42.

RRCA 2019 Roads Scholar Grants

Dakotah Lindwurm and Annie Frisbie have been named as two of five Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) 2019 Roads Scholar grantees.  They will each receive $5,000 from the program that has been awarding grants to emerging elite U.S. distance runners since 1996.  The goal of the program is to assist American post-collegiate runners who show great promise to develop into national and world class road running athletes.  The grants go directly to the athletes to help support their goals and training needs.

Lindwurm is from St. Francis, Minnesota, and competed collegiately at Northern State University in South Dakota, graduating in 2017.  She joined Team USA Minnesota in 2018 to pursue her goal of running professionally and within the last year has set a personal best in every event she has run from the 5k to the marathon.

She was fifth at the 2019 USATF 25k Championships, debuted in the marathon at Grandma’s in June to place fourth in a time of 2:34:02, and then lowered that time to 2:32:39 at Twin Cities in October, placing second.  She has qualified for the 2020 U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials.

Frisbie is a native of River Falls, Wisconsin, where as a prep she won the Division I State Cross Country meet and placed in the top 25 at both Footlocker and Nike Nationals.  She was also third at the 2015 Wisconsin D1 State Track & Field meet in the 1600.

At Iowa State University, her best times were 9:23 in the 3000m, 15:53 in the 5000m, and 32:58 in the 10,000m.  The All-American for the Cyclones competed in the NCAA D1 Cross Country Championships and the NCAA West Region Preliminary Rounds in the 10,000.  In the 2018 Big 12 Outdoor Track Championships she was second in the 10,000 and third in the 5000m.  She joined Team USA Minnesota after graduation in 2019 and ran the USATF 10 Mile Championships in October to finish fifth in a debut time of 54:00.
